"New Year, New Goals, Better Me!"

Welcome to 2022! Can you believe we made it through another year? Now last year may not have been the most exciting and joyful year, but let’s turn it around with 2022!

As the saying goes, “Out with the old, in with the new.” We all should be pretty glad to survive a pandemic, am I right? So, let’s leave all of that negativity in 2021 and kick things off with some of MHS students' resolutions for the new year.

“Let's make some goals, strive towards them, get totally absorbed in them, and take satisfaction in our progress - and before you know it, the old negativity following you is no longer. Cool huh?”

Jakobi Nyarko

Jakobi Nyarko, our tall man over there on the right, one of the students attending Morrow High School, has BIG new year’s resolutions. One of his new year’s goals is to graduate high school with a GPA higher than 3.0. Not only does he want to achieve a higher GPA, Jakobi is also planning to evolve and mature mentally by the end of the year.

Now these goals are definitely not easy so to help him reach this goal, he plans to remove himself from unnecessary distractions such as: - toxic relationships - social media - people that aren't beneficial to him. Alright, Jakobi, we look forward to hearing your accomplishments! Now, let’s move on Robert Washington's goals for the new year.

Robert Washington

Robert Washington, another student from MHS has PROMISING plans for the next 12 months of 2022. Setting goals for the new year, he plans to start prioritizing his happiness. In addition to graduating, Robert has an initial purpose which is to preserve balance as a young black male LGTBQ+ member getting into society. Wow! Those are some promising plans for 2022. Can’t wait to see your success flow as you journey on!

WOOO, GO ROBERT!!!

So as we conclude our first edition, let's remember, this is only the beginning of what could be a fantastic year for each and everyone! Everyone can find their own purpose this year, so don’t hop off the roller coaster just yet! We, as students, specially set our objectives to our studies to brighten our future. As students, we need to set goals to help align ourselves, focus, and promote a sense of self mastery. Setting goals not only motivates us but improves our mental health. We have a brand new start so let’s do this right and make 2022 one for the books. I'm pretty sure you all have some new years resolutions, whether you know it or not. So, don’t be shy, let’s hear them!
